Carl Frederik von Breda
Retratista de la corte sueca
Carl Frederik von Breda fue un pintor sueco que estudió y pasó gran parte de su carrera en Gran Bretaña antes de convertirse en pintor de la corte sueca. Nació en Estocolmo en 1759 y se trasladó a Gran Bretaña, donde fue alumno de Joshua Reynolds. Breda se especializó en la pintura de retratos y fue llamado "el van Dyck de Suecia". Regresó a Suecia en 1796, donde se convirtió en profesor de la Academia de Artes, un retratista popular y pintor de la corte. Breda se casó a los 22 años y su hijo, Johan Fredrik, también fue pintor y estudió con su padre. Breda murió en Estocolmo en 1818.
