Carl Frederik von Breda
Retratista da corte sueca
Carl Frederik von Breda foi um pintor sueco que estudou e passou grande parte de sua carreira na Grã-Bretanha antes de se tornar pintor da corte sueca. Ele nasceu em Estocolmo em 1759 e mudou-se para a Grã-Bretanha, onde foi aluno de Joshua Reynolds. Breda especializou-se em pintar retratos e foi chamado de "o van Dyck da Suécia". Ele retornou à Suécia em 1796, onde se tornou professor na Academia de Artes, um retratista popular e pintor da corte. Breda casou-se aos 22 anos e seu filho, Johan Fredrik, também foi pintor, tendo estudado com o pai. Breda morreu em Estocolmo em 1818.
