Carl Millner
Paysages alpins détaillés et lumineux
Carl Millner était un peintre paysagiste allemand. Vers 1850, il quitta Mindelheim pour Munich afin d'améliorer ses compétences artistiques. Là, il subit l'influence de Carl Rottmann et d'Eduard Schleich. Il s'imposa rapidement comme un artiste à succès et fut surtout connu pour ses populaires paysages alpins, méticuleusement rendus avec des détails fins et une grande attention portée à la lumière et aux ombres. En 1857, il s'associa au marchand d'art Daniel Loffel et atteignit la stabilité financière. Après 1858, il prit des leçons supplémentaires auprès de Julius Lange. Plus tard, il accueillit de nombreux jeunes apprentis pour des cours dans son atelier. En 2012, la galerie Carl-Millner a été inaugurée dans sa ville natale de Mindelheim.
