Carl Millner
Paesaggi alpini dettagliati e luminosi
Carl Millner è stato un pittore paesaggista tedesco. Intorno al 1850, si trasferì da Mindelheim a Monaco per migliorare le sue capacità artistiche. Lì, subì l'influenza di Carl Rottmann e Eduard Schleich. Si affermò rapidamente come artista di successo ed era noto soprattutto per i suoi apprezzati paesaggi alpini, resi meticolosamente con dettagli raffinati e grande attenzione alla luce e all'ombra. Nel 1857, si associò al mercante d'arte Daniel Loffel e raggiunse la stabilità finanziaria. Dopo il 1858, prese ulteriori lezioni da Julius Lange. In seguito, accolse numerosi giovani apprendisti per lezioni nel suo studio. Nel 2012, la Carl-Millner-Galerie è stata inaugurata nella sua città natale di Mindelheim.
