Cesare Dandini
Gepflegte florentinische Barockzeichnung
Cesare Dandini war ein italienischer Maler des Barock, der hauptsächlich in seiner Heimatstadt Florenz tätig war. Er war der ältere Bruder des Malers Vincenzo Dandini (1609–1675). Sein Neffe Pietro war ein Schüler Vincenzos, und Pietros zwei Söhne, Ottaviano Dandini und der Jesuitenpater Vincenzo, arbeiteten ebenfalls als Maler in Florenz. Dem Biographen Baldinucci zufolge arbeitete Cesare zunächst unter Francesco Curradi, dann unter Cristofano Allori und schließlich unter Domenico Passignano. Er schrieb sich 1621 in die Accademia del Disegno ein. Sein Stil weist die für Florentiner wie Carlo Dolci charakteristische Eleganz und Sorgfalt in Zeichnung und Gestaltung auf. Zu seinen Schülern zählten Stefano della Bella, Alessandro Rosi, der Landschaftsmaler Antonio Giusti, Giovanni Domenico Ferrucci und Jacopo Giorgi.
