Cesare Dandini

Cesare Dandini était un peintre italien de la période baroque, actif principalement dans sa ville natale de Florence. Il était le frère aîné du peintre Vincenzo Dandini (1609–1675). Son neveu, Pietro, fut l'élève de Vincenzo, et les deux fils de Pietro, Ottaviano Dandini et le prêtre jésuite Vincenzo, travaillèrent également comme peintres à Florence. Selon le biographe Baldinucci, Cesare travailla d'abord sous la direction de Francesco Curradi, puis de Cristofano Allori, et enfin de Domenico Passignano. Il s'inscrivit en 1621 à l'Accademia del Disegno. Son style possède le raffinement et l'attention portée au dessin et à la composition caractéristiques des Florentins comme Carlo Dolci. Parmi ses élèves figuraient Stefano della Bella, Alessandro Rosi, le peintre paysagiste Antonio Giusti, Giovanni Domenico Ferrucci et Jacopo Giorgi.
