Cesare Dandini
Gepolijst Florentijns barok tekenwerk
Cesare Dandini was een Italiaanse schilder uit de barokperiode, voornamelijk actief in zijn geboortestad Florence. Hij was de oudere broer van de schilder Vincenzo Dandini (1609–1675). Zijn neef Pietro was een leerling van Vincenzo, en Pietro's twee zonen, Ottaviano Dandini en de jezuïetenpriester Vincenzo, werkten eveneens als schilders in Florence. Volgens de biograaf Baldinucci werkte Cesare eerst onder Francesco Curradi, daarna onder Cristofano Allori en ten slotte onder Domenico Passignano. Hij schreef zich in 1621 in bij de Accademia del Disegno. Zijn stijl heeft de verfijning en aandacht voor tekenkunst en ontwerp die kenmerkend is voor Florentijnen zoals Carlo Dolci. Tot zijn leerlingen behoorden Stefano della Bella, Alessandro Rosi, de landschapschilder Antonio Giusti, Giovanni Domenico Ferrucci en Jacopo Giorgi.
