Charles Jay Taylor

Charles Jay Taylor est né à New York en 1855. Il a étudié le droit à l'Université Columbia, puis l'art à la Art Students League, à la National Academy of Design (avec Eastman Johnson) et au City College de New York, ainsi qu'à Londres et à Paris. Il a contribué des illustrations au Daily Graphic de New York et à des magazines tels que Harpers, Puck et Punch. Son livre 'Taylor Girls' lui a valu une renommée internationale.
