Charles Jay Taylor

Charles Jay Taylor werd in 1855 geboren in New York. Hij studeerde rechten aan de Columbia-universiteit en daarna kunst aan de Art Students League, de National Academy of Design (bij Eastman Johnson) en het City College of New York, evenals in Londen en Parijs. Hij leverde illustraties voor de New Yorkse Daily Graphic en tijdschriften zoals Harpers, Puck en Punch. Zijn boek 'Taylor Girls' bracht hem internationale erkenning.
