영국 수석 풍자화가
찰스 윌리엄스는 영국의 만화가, 에칭 작가 및 일러스트레이터였습니다. 1799년부터 1815년까지 그는 영국 주요 출판사 S. W. Fores의 수석 만화가로 활동했습니다. 그의 스타일은 제임스 길레이와 유사했습니다. 초기 작품에서 윌리엄스는 안셀 또는 아르고스라는 필명을 사용했으며, 조지 크루이크셴크 등과 함께 윌리엄 호인이 편집한 『매일의 책』(1825–26년)의 삽화를 그렸습니다. 윌리엄스는 제1대 웰링턴 공작을 풍자한 많은 사람들 중 첫 번째였습니다. 그는 1808년 9월, 반도 전쟁 중에 비메이로 전투에서 패배한 프랑스 장군 장-안도슈 주노의 머리띠를 자르는 공작의 그림을 발표했습니다.
