コルネリウス・ノルベルトゥス・ヒスブレヒツ
トロンプルイユの巨匠
コルネリス・ノルベルトゥス・ギースブレヒツ(Cornelis Norbertus Gijsbrechts)、またはギスブレヒツ(Gysbrechts)は、17世紀後半にベルギー、ドイツ、デンマーク、スウェーデンで活動したフランドルの画家である。彼はトロンプ・ルイユを専門とし、これは描かれた二次元の幻影が本物の三次元物体であると当時の鑑賞者に信じ込ませることを目的とした芸術ジャンルである。 ギースブレヒツの生年月日と出生地は定かではなく、晩年の活動についても記録が残っておらず、当時の美術史文献にも彼の名前は言及されていない。現存する最古の作品は1657年に制作されたものである。1660年代初頭、彼はドイツ、とりわけレーゲンスブルクにいた可能性があり、そこで神聖ローマ皇帝レオポルト1世に仕えていたかもしれないが、これは事実として確認されていない。1664年から1665年頃、ギースブレヒツはハンブルクへ移り、数年間滞在したと推測されている。 ギースブレヒツは遅くとも1668年にデンマークに渡り、ここで専制君主であるデンマーク王フレデリク3世により1668年から1670年まで宮廷芸術家として雇用され、その後1670年から1672年までクリスチャン5世に仕えた。彼はローゼンボー城近くの王立庭園にアトリエを構え、1670年からは自らを宮廷画家と称した。 1670年から1672年の間に、彼は複数の絵画の対価を受け取っており、その中にはローゼンボー城のための作品も含まれていた。コペンハーゲンを去った後、彼はストックホルムにいたと考えられており、1673年には同市の市民階級から注文を受けた大型のレターラックを描いた。1675年、彼は再びドイツにあり、この年に彼の最後の現存する作品が制作された。その後、彼の活動についてはほとんど知られていない。
