Dietrich Wilhelm Lindau

Dietrich Wilhelm Lindau fue un pintor y dibujante alemán de género y paisaje. Primero estudió en la Academia de Arte de Dresde con Ferdinand Hartmann y fue apoyado por él. En 1821, viajó a Roma con una beca sajona junto con otros pintores alemanes (incluidos Carl Götzloff, Carl Georg Schumacher y Anton Josef Dräger), donde falleció a los 63 años. Fue cofundador de la Sociedad Ponte Molle en Roma, precursora de la Asociación de Arte Alemana de 1845. Nunca regresó a su tierra natal, aunque le habían ofrecido un puesto docente en la Academia de Dresde.
