Dorothy Waugh

Dorothy Waugh studeerde design aan het Chicago Institute of Art en verhuisde vervolgens naar New York, waar ze de afdeling kinderboeken van Alfred A. Knopf beheerde. In de jaren dertig werkte ze voor de National Park Service als productiesupervisor en leverde ze ook daadwerkelijke kunstwerken en teksten. Er zijn minstens acht bekende afbeeldingen die ze voor de nationale parken heeft ontworpen, elk gekenmerkt door een unieke typografische behandeling en gedurfde graphics.
