Edwin Foley

Il est né Edwin John Foley à Fisherton Anger, dans le Wiltshire, vers 1859, deuxième enfant et fils aîné d'Arthur Foley, fabricant de meubles des Fisherton Cabinet Works à Salisbury, et de son épouse Jane. Il a reçu au moins une partie de son éducation à Londres, où il vivait avec son oncle et sa tante, Peter et Rhoda Marie Brown. Il a travaillé comme designer pour son père au moins depuis le début des années 1880, mais en 1891, il vivait à Charlotte Street, Marylebone, avec sa femme Louisa Maud (née Hayford), qu'il avait épousée en 1882. Ils ont eu trois enfants : Conrad Hayford (né en 1885), Hubert Edwin (né en 1887) et Alan Victor (né en 1888).
