Edwin Foley

Nacque come Edwin John Foley a Fisherton Anger, nel Wiltshire, intorno al 1859, secondo figlio e primogenito maschio del produttore di mobili Arthur Foley dei Fisherton Cabinet Works di Salisbury, e di sua moglie Jane. Ricevette almeno in parte la sua istruzione a Londra, dove visse con suo zio e sua zia, Peter e Rhoda Marie Brown. Ha lavorato come designer per suo padre almeno dall'inizio degli anni 1880, ma nel 1891 viveva a Charlotte Street, Marylebone, con sua moglie Louisa Maud (nata Hayford), che aveva sposato nel 1882. Hanno avuto tre figli: Conrad Hayford (n. 1885), Hubert Edwin (n. 1887) e Alan Victor (n. 1888).
