Edwin Foley
Victoriaanse meubelontwerper
Hij werd geboren als Edwin John Foley in Fisherton Anger, Wiltshire, rond 1859, het tweede kind en oudste zoon van meubelmaker Arthur Foley van de Fisherton Cabinet Works in Salisbury, en zijn vrouw Jane. Hij kreeg ten minste gedeeltelijk zijn opleiding in Londen, waar hij bij zijn oom en tante, Peter en Rhoda Marie Brown, woonde. Hij werkte ten minste sinds het begin van de jaren 1880 als ontwerper voor zijn vader, maar in 1891 woonde hij aan Charlotte Street in Marylebone met zijn vrouw Louisa Maud (geboren Hayford), met wie hij in 1882 trouwde. Ze kregen drie kinderen: Conrad Hayford (geb. 1885), Hubert Edwin (geb. 1887) en Alan Victor (geb. 1888).
