埃德溫·朗
聖經與東方題材大師
埃德溫·朗是一位英國風俗、歷史、聖經和肖像畫家。朗出生在薩默塞特郡巴斯，是理髮師詹姆斯·朗（來自薩默塞特郡凱爾斯頓）的兒子，並在巴斯的維納博士學校接受教育。朗選擇繪畫為職業，來到倫敦並在大英博物館學習。朗深受委拉斯開茲及其他西班牙大師畫作的影響，他的早期作品如《拉波薩達》和《拉萨里拉與盲乞丐》都是在西班牙影響下創作的。1874年，他訪問了埃及和敘利亞，隨後他的作品有了新的方向。他完全沉浸在中東考古學中，創作了包括《埃及盛宴》、《眾神與造物主》在內的東方場景畫。
