栄松斎長喜
雰囲気ある細身の美人画
英祥斎長喜(えいしょうさい ちょうき)、別名百川長喜(ももかわ ちょうき)は、1786年頃から1808年にかけて活動した浮世絵風の日本の木版画のデザイナーである。彼は歌麿と共に鳥山石燕(1712–1788)の弟子であった。長喜は、しばしば雰囲気のある背景と共に描かれる、細身の美しい女性の画像で最もよく知られている。 この芸術家は作品の多くに長喜(Chōki)と署名し、一部の作品には栄松斎(Eishōsai)または子興(Shikō)と署名することもありました。 長喜の生涯の詳細は不明瞭である。彼は鳥山石燕の弟子であり、おそらく養子でもあったと考えられている。長喜は美人画を専門とし、複数の画名を持っていた:長喜と署名された作品は清長のスタイルに似ており、四湖と署名された作品は歌麿のスタイルに似ていた。 長喜は、長喜の版画シリーズを数点出版した出版商・蔦屋重三郎の家に住んでいた。長喜の人気シリーズには、近江八景(Ōmi hakkei)や忠臣蔵八景(Chūshingura hakkei)などがある。彼はまた、柱絵(hashira-e)、鳥花画(kachō-e)、書籍の挿絵も制作した。彼の最後の既知の作品は、1809年の観瓦亭鬼武の『勿来関』(Nakoso no seki)の挿絵である。
