Elmer Boyd Smith

Elmer Boyd Smith war ein amerikanischer Schriftsteller und Illustrator von Kinderbüchern sowie Maler. Smith wurde in Saint John, New Brunswick, geboren und studierte von 1881 bis 1884 Kunst in Paris bei Gustave Boulanger und Jules Joseph Lefebvre an der Académie Julian sowie mehrere Jahre bei H. Lefort. Anfang der 1900er Jahre zog er nach Wilton, Connecticut, wo er den Rest seines Lebens verbrachte. Er illustrierte mehr als siebzig Bücher für Erwachsene und Kinder, beginnend mit My Village im Jahr 1896, geschrieben während er in Frankreich lebte. Sein erstes Kinderbuch war The Story of Noah's Ark im Jahr 1905.
