Elmer Boyd Smith
Ilustrador prolífico de libros infantiles
Elmer Boyd Smith fue un escritor e ilustrador estadounidense de libros infantiles y pintor. Smith nació en Saint John, Nuevo Brunswick y estudió arte en París con Gustave Boulanger y Jules Joseph Lefebvre en la Académie Julian de 1881 a 1884, y también con H. Lefort durante varios años. A principios de la década de 1900 se trasladó a Wilton, Connecticut, donde pasó el resto de su vida. Ilustró más de setenta libros tanto para adultos como para niños, comenzando con My Village en 1896, escrito mientras vivía en Francia. Su primer libro infantil fue The Story of Noah's Ark en 1905.
