Elmer Boyd Smith

Elmer Boyd Smith è stato uno scrittore e illustratore americano di libri per bambini e pittore. Smith è nato a Saint John, nel Nuovo Brunswick, e ha studiato arte a Parigi con Gustave Boulanger e Jules Joseph Lefebvre all'Académie Julian dal 1881 al 1884, e anche con H. Lefort per diversi anni. All'inizio degli anni 1900 si è trasferito a Wilton, nel Connecticut, dove ha trascorso il resto della sua vita. Ha illustrato più di settanta libri per adulti e bambini, a partire da My Village nel 1896, scritto mentre viveva in Francia. Il suo primo libro per bambini è stato The Story of Noah's Ark nel 1905.
