Elmer Boyd Smith
Ilustrador prolífico de livros infantis
Elmer Boyd Smith foi um escritor e ilustrador americano de livros infantis e pintor. Smith nasceu em Saint John, New Brunswick e estudou arte em Paris com Gustave Boulanger e Jules Joseph Lefebvre na Académie Julian de 1881 a 1884, e também com H. Lefort por vários anos. No início da década de 1900, ele se mudou para Wilton, Connecticut, onde passou o resto de sua vida. Ele ilustrou mais de setenta livros para adultos e crianças, começando com My Village em 1896, escrito enquanto morava na França. Seu primeiro livro infantil foi The Story of Noah's Ark em 1905.
