Emile-Allain Séguy è stato un designer francese popolare durante i movimenti Art Déco e Art Nouveau degli anni '20. Spesso confuso con l'entomologo francese Eugène Séguy, attivo nello stesso periodo, E.A. Séguy progettava principalmente motivi e tessuti ed era fortemente influenzato dal mondo naturale. Apprezzava particolarmente i motivi intricati e la bellezza degli insetti, che considerava «meraviglie meccaniche» che fornivano abbondante ispirazione per il design d'interni.
