エルンスト・シュテュッケルベルク
スイスのロマン派歴史画家
エルンスト・シュテュッケルベルクはバーゼル出身のスイス人画家で、その家族は14世紀にまでさかのぼるほどこの都市と深いつながりを持っていた。彼は糖尿病の合併症により死去した。 彼はロマン主義の伝統に属し、自らの世代で最も人気のある芸術家の一人であり、さまざまなテーマ（肖像画、田園や村の風景、歴史的典拠など）を描いた多くの絵画を制作した。その中には、スイスの国民的英雄ヴィルヘルム・テルを題材とした一連の作品も含まれている。彼は1881年に正式にシュテュッケルベルク（Stückelberg）という名前を採用し、バーゼル当局によって適切に登録された。
