Ernst Stückelberg

Ernst Stückelberg foi um pintor suíço natural de Basiléia, nascido em uma família cujas ligações com a cidade remontavam ao século XIV. Ele morreu de complicações do diabetes. Ele foi um dos artistas mais populares da sua geração na tradição romântica, produzindo muitas pinturas com diversos temas (retratos, cenas rurais e de vilarejos e alusões históricas), incluindo uma série sobre o herói nacional suíço Guilherme Tell. Adotou formalmente o nome Stückelberg em 1881; isso foi devidamente registrado pelas autoridades de Basileia.
