Étienne Parrocel
Französischer Religionsmaler in Rom
Étienne Parrocel wurde in eine Familie von Malern und Kupferstechern aus Montbrisson in der Region Loire geboren und verbrachte einen Großteil seines Berufslebens in Rom. In Frankreich studierte er bei seinem Onkel Pierre (1670–1739), der ihn 1717 nach Rom mitnahm, wo er 1734 der Accademia di San Luca beitrat. Étiennes religiöse Werke waren im 18. Jahrhundert gefragt, insbesondere nachdem Pierre Guérin de Tencin ein verschollenes Gemälde von ihm in Auftrag gegeben hatte.
