Étienne Parrocel
Pittore religioso francese a Roma
Nato in una famiglia di pittori e incisori originaria di Montbrisson, nella regione della Loira, Étienne Parrocel trascorse gran parte della sua vita professionale a Roma. In Francia, studiò sotto la guida di suo zio Pierre (1670-1739), che lo portò a Roma nel 1717, dove entrò a far parte dell'Accademia di San Luca nel 1734. Le opere religiose di Étienne erano molto richieste nel XVIII secolo, soprattutto dopo che Pierre Guérin de Tencin gli commissionò un dipinto di cui si sono perse le tracce.
