Francesco de Mura
Barroco tardío al neoclasicismo
Francesco de Mura fue un pintor italiano de finales del período barroco, activo principalmente en Nápoles y Turín. Su obra tardía refleja el estilo del neoclasicismo. Francesco de Mura, también conocido como Franceschiello, fue alumno de Francesco Solimena y luego de Domenico Viola, donde conoció a su contemporáneo, Mattia Preti. Todavía adolescente, pintó frescos (1715) en San Nicola alla Carità en Nápoles. Pintó diez lienzos de las Virtudes y una Adoración de los Reyes Magos (1728) para la iglesia de Santa Maria Donnaromita. Sus otras obras incluyen frescos de la Adoración de los Reyes Magos (1732) en la cúpula del ábside de la iglesia de la Nunziatella. De Mura también pintó retratos. Entre sus alumnos se encontraban Pietro Bardellino y Girolamo Starace.
