フレデリック・ワディ
ヴィクトリア朝風刺画の先駆者
フレデリック・ワディは、イギリスの芸術家、カリカチュアリスト、漫画家、版画家でした。 ワディは、週刊文学雑誌『Once a Week』のために、当時の多くの著名人の漫画風カリカチュアを提供した。1873年に出版された『Cartoon Portraits and Biographical Sketches of Men of the Day』には、ダーウィン、スウィンバーン、テニスン、ブラウニングなど50人の著名人に関する匿名のエッセイに添えられたワディの挿画が含まれている。
