Friedrich Sustris
Pittore italo-olandese e architetto di corte
Friedrich Sustris era un pittore, decoratore e architetto italo-olandese. Era figlio dell'artista Lambert Sustris, che lavorava in Italia. Sustris ricevette la sua formazione da suo padre Lambert a Venezia e Padova. Dal 1563 al 1567 fu formato da Giorgio Vasari a Firenze, dopo essere tornato da un soggiorno a Roma nel 1560. Il suo primo mecenate fu Hans Fugger, che commissionò la decorazione della residenza Fugger a Venezia. Era il genero di Jan Kraeck. Dal 1573 in poi, Sustris lavorò per Guglielmo V, duca di Baviera, a Landshut, prima di diventare architetto capo della corte bavarese con l'ascesa al trono di Guglielmo nel 1579.
