ジョージ・ウォーカー
自然と人物を描く
ジョージ・ウォカーは1781年にリーズ近郊で生まれ、5人兄弟の末子であった。父ウィリアムは乾物商であり、ミル・ヒル・チャペルの会員であった。ジョージはマンスフィールドで教育を受け、その後ヨークのチャールズ・ウェルベルヴド牧師の学校に通った。父の商業を継ぐ代わりに、彼は自然史と美術を学び、野生動物、人物、風景のスケッチをよく描いた。彼は1856年に死去した。
