Giovanni Grubacs

Giovanni Grubacs, um célebre pintor do século XIX de cenas venezianas, foi um artista altamente habilidoso e filho de Carlo Grubacs, um pintor bem conceituado de temas semelhantes. Estilisticamente, tanto Giovanni quanto Carlo geralmente pintavam pequenos painéis de qualidade extremamente fina, com atenção meticulosa aos detalhes e à precisão. Muitas de suas obras apresentavam famosas cenas venezianas ao longo do Grande Canal, como o Palácio Ducal e a Ponte de Rialto. Giovanni seguiu a grande tradição dos artistas venezianos dos séculos XVII e XVIII, fortemente influenciado por pintores como Francesco Guardi (1712-1793) e Antonio Canal Canaletto (1697-1768). Grubacs era de origem alemã, mas passou a maior parte da sua vida na Itália. Ele morreu em Veneza em 1919, após uma longa e frutífera vida. Suas obras continuam tão populares hoje quanto eram durante sua vida e podem ser encontradas em muitas coleções públicas e privadas em todo o mundo.
