Pintor barroco inicial misturando maneirismo e colorismo
Giulio Cesare Procaccini foi um pintor e escultor italiano do início da era barroca em Milão. Nascido em Bolonha, era filho do pintor maneirista Ercole Procaccini, o Velho. Ele começou como escultor na Catedral de Milão e na igreja milanesa de Santa Maria presso San Celso. Em 1610, pintou seis dos Quadroni, grandes telas que celebram São Carlos Borromeu. Entre seus muitos retábulos estão a Circuncisão, atualmente na Galeria Estense em Módena, e a Última Ceia para o convento associado à Basílica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato em Gênova. Ele também pintou a Flagelação de Cristo. Ele também pintou pequenas telas religiosas para famílias ricas em Milão e Gênova, onde viu as obras de Rubens. Seu estilo mostra a influência do maneirismo bolonhês e do colorismo veneziano e marca o início do barroco.
