Giuseppe Cades
Römischer neoklassizistischer Maler Bildhauer
Giuseppe Cades war ein italienischer Bildhauer, Maler und Kupferstecher. Cades wurde in Rom geboren. Er studierte bei Mancini und Domenico Corvi und gewann 1765 einen Preis mit seinem Gemälde „Tobias erlangt sein Sehvermögen zurück". Er besuchte 1766 Florenz und fertigte zwei Jahre später ein Altarbild für San Benedetto in Turin sowie 1771 ein weiteres für die Kirche Santi Apostoli an. Außerdem schmückte er den Palazzo Chigi mit Fresken, Landschaftsbildern und Szenen aus Tassos Werken. Er hinterließ zwei Radierungen: „Christus segnet die kleinen Kinder" und „Der Tod von Leonardo da Vinci". Im Jahr 1786 trat er der Accademia di San Luca in Rom bei. Er starb in Rom.
