Giuseppe Cades
Peintre et sculpteur néoclassique romain
Giuseppe Cades était un sculpteur, peintre et graveur italien. Cades est né à Rome. Il a étudié sous la direction de Mancini et de Domenico Corvi, remportant un prix en 1765 avec son tableau représentant Tobie recouvrant la vue. Il a visité Florence en 1766, et deux ans plus tard, il a réalisé un retable pour l'église San Benedetto à Turin, puis un autre en 1771 pour l'église des Santi Apostoli. Il a également décoré le Palazzo Chigi avec des fresques, des paysages et des scènes inspirées du Tasse. Il a laissé deux eaux-fortes : Le Christ bénissant les petits enfants et La Mort de Léonard de Vinci. Il a rejoint l'Accademia di San Luca de Rome en 1786. Il est mort à Rome.
