Giuseppe Cades
Romeins neoclassicistisch schilder beeldhouwer
Giuseppe Cades was een Italiaanse beeldhouwer, schilder en graveur. Cades werd geboren in Rome. Hij studeerde onder Mancini en Domenico Corvi en won in 1765 een prijs met zijn schilderij van Tobias die zijn zicht herstelt. Hij bezocht Florence in 1766 en voerde twee jaar later een altaarstuk uit voor San Benedetto in Turijn en in 1771 een ander voor de kerk van Santi Apostoli. Hij decoreerde ook het Palazzo Chigi met fresco's, landschappen en scènes uit Tasso. Hij liet twee etsen na: Christus zegent de kleine kinderen en De dood van Leonardo da Vinci. Hij sloot zich in 1786 aan bij de Accademia di San Luca in Rome. Hij overleed in Rome.
