Giuseppe Cades
Pintor e escultor neoclássico romano
Giuseppe Cades foi um escultor, pintor e gravador italiano. Cades nasceu em Roma. Estudou com Mancini e Domenico Corvi, ganhando um prêmio em 1765 com seu quadro de Tobias recuperando a visão. Visitou Florença em 1766 e, dois anos depois, executou um retábulo para San Benedetto em Turim e, em 1771, outro para a igreja de Santi Apostoli. Também decorou o Palazzo Chigi com afrescos, paisagens e cenas de Tasso. Deixou duas gravuras em água-forte: Cristo abençoando as criancinhas e A morte de Leonardo da Vinci. Juntou-se à Accademia di San Luca de Roma em 1786. Morreu em Roma.
