Gordon Ross
Vielseitiger US-Buchillustrator
Gordon Ross war ein amerikanischer Illustrator, der 1873 in Schottland geboren wurde. Als Teenager segelte er nach San Francisco, Kalifornien, studierte am Mark Hopkins Art Institute und arbeitete bis 1904 in der Kunstabteilung des San Francisco Chronicle. Er zog nach New York und wurde Buchillustrator, wobei er an Büchern wie Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Große Erwartungen und Die Pickwickier mitwirkte. Er stellte seine Werke im Bohemian Club, in der American Arts Association und in der New York Times aus. Gordon Ross starb 1946.
