Gustave Vanaise
Pintor histórico flamengo, fundador Vinte
Nascido em Gante, onde foi instruído antes de concluir sua formação em Bruxelas, Vanaise tornou-se em 1883 um dos membros fundadores do grupo Les Vingt. Influenciado pela arte flamenga e posteriormente pela arte holandesa, após uma visita aos Países Baixos no início de 1878, mas também por contemporâneos como Jan Van Beers, Vanaise mudou-se para Paris em agosto de 1878. Passou dois anos lá e pintou suas primeiras grandes pinturas históricas, que começou a expor no Salon.
