Harald Sohlberg
Paisajes noruegos místicos
Harald Oskar Sohlberg fue un pintor noruego del neorromanticismo. Sohlberg asistió a la Escuela Real de Arte y Diseño de Christiania. Más tarde se formó bajo la tutela del artista gráfico y pintor Johan Nordhagen. Sohlberg asistió a la escuela de arte de Kristian Zahrtmann. También estudió como alumno de Erik Werenskiold, Eilif Peterssen y Harriet Backer. Es particularmente conocido por sus representaciones de las montañas de Rondane y la ciudad de Røros. Quizás sus pinturas más ampliamente reconocidas, en varias versiones, son Noche de invierno en Rondane, actualmente exhibidas en la Galería Nacional (Nasjonalgalleriet). Su pintura La cabaña del pescador fue utilizada como portada de un libro del escritor escocés John Burnside titulado Un verano de ahogamiento; Sohlberg es mencionado prominentemente a lo largo de la novela, y una de las secciones de este libro se llama «La casa del pescador», en claro homenaje a la pintura. Otra pintura, Prado floral del norte, fue utilizada como portada del libro Poemas matutinos de Robert Bly.
