Hendrick van Anthonissen

Hendrick van Anthonissen era un pittore di marine olandese. Van Anthonissen nacque e morì ad Amsterdam. Era figlio di Aert Anthonisz (alias Aart van Antum) e dipinse nello stile del suo cognato e maestro Jan Porcellis e di Jan van Goyen. È l'autore di dipinti marini all'Ermitage, San Pietroburgo e alla Galleria di Praga, che attraverso le loro firme sono stati attribuiti a un mitico Hendrik van Antem. Negli anni 1630 visse a L'Aia, Leida e Leiderdorp, ma dal 1642 tornò ad Amsterdam. È noto per le scene di spiaggia e i paesaggi marini nello stile di Jan Porcellis, talvolta in grisaille. Fu il padre del pittore di marine Arnoldus van Anthonissen.
