Hendrik Bary était un graveur néerlandais eminent. Bary est né et mort à Gouda. Son style semble indiquer qu'il fut soit un élève de Cornelis Visscher, soit qu'il s'est formé en imitant sa manière. Nous avons de lui plusieurs planches de portraits et de sujets divers, exécutées très soigneusement au burin, qui ont un grand mérite, bien qu'elles ne soient nullement égales aux œuvres de Visscher. Il marquait généralement ses planches avec son nom, H. Bary, et parfois H. B.
