앙리 부테
파리 패션 판화 대가
앙리 부테는 프랑스의 판화가이자 삽화가이다. 그는 1851년 생트에르민(방데)에서 태어났으며, 1919년 6월 9일 파리에서 사망했다. 그는 '코르셋의 작은 거장' 또는 '미디네트의 화가'라는 별명으로 불렸다. 1890년대 부테는 "파리지엥" 양식으로 네글리제를 입은 여성을 표현한 에칭 및 드라이포인트 제작을 전문으로 했으며, 안목이 있는 대중으로부터는 거의 성공을 거두지 못했다. 판화는 한정판이다. 명성이 높아짐에 따라 부테는 자신의 출판사를 설립하고 Le Frou-frou, L'Assiette au beurre, Le Pêle-Mêle 같은 정기 간행물이나 La Plume, L'Estampe originale, The modern print, 나아가 Hundred Collection 같은 예술 간행물에 자신의 작품을 판매했다. 그는 많은 연감(The Female Year), 달력, 메뉴에 삽화를 그렸다. 1902년 그는 《Les Modes Feminines du XIXe Siecle》을 출간하여 즉각적인 찬사를 받았다. 그의 100점의 드라이포인트 에칭은 1801년부터 1900년까지 매년의 패션 발전을 보여주었다. 드라이포인트 에칭은 본질적으로 부드러운 질감의 이미지를 만들어낸다. 삽화들은 세밀한 부분에 주의를 기울여 수작업으로 채색되었으며, 주제에 대한 그의 애정을 보여주는 방식으로 처리되었다. 이 원본 에칭 모음집은 600부 한정판이었다.
