ヘンリー・ショー
ゴシック建築画家兼古物研究家
ヘンリー・ショーは、イギリスの建築製図技師、版画家、装飾写本作家、および古物研究家でした。 ショーは1800年7月4日にロンドンで生まれ、最初に絵画の技術を磨いた。彼は1833年にロンドン古物協会フェローに選出された。彼は1873年6月12日、ハートフォードシャー州のブロックスボーンで死去した。 Shaw was employed by John Britton on his Cathedral Antiquities of England, supplying illustrations of Wells Cathedral and Gloucester. In 1823 he published A Series of Details of Gothic Architecture, and in 1829, with plates drawn and engraved by himself, The History and Antiquities of the Chapel at Luton Park; the florid Gothic architecture of Luton Park was destroyed by fire in 1843. 彼は『古物学者協会紀要』に論文を投稿し、その中には「サリー州チャートジー修道院の敷地内で最近発見されたタイル舗装の遺構に関する報告」(『紀要』、1856年、第3巻、269–77頁)が含まれていた。彼は1848年、1615年に初版が刊行されたウォルター・ギッドの『さまざまな図案集、主にガラス職人のためのものだが、漆喰職人や庭師にも無関係ではない』の複製版を編集した。また、彼は1864年に出版されたロングマン社版『新約聖書』のすべての頭文字と装飾部分を設計または改変し、木版画で描いた。
