Jacob Duck

Jacob Duck è stato un pittore e incisore olandese. Si ritiene che Duck sia nato a Utrecht. Dal 1611 fu addestrato a Utrecht per diventare orafo, mestiere in cui divenne maestro nel 1619. Dal 1621 prese lezioni di disegno da Joost Cornelisz Droochsloot. Fu attivo principalmente a Utrecht, ma anche a Haarlem tra il 1636 e il 1646, mentre tra il 1656 e il 1660 visse all'Aia. Nel 1661 tornò a Utrecht, dove morì e fu sepolto nel monastero di Santa Maria Maddalena. Duck dipinse principalmente soldati, figure e scene di vita quotidiana. Le sue opere si trovano in molti musei noti, incluso il Museo dell'Ermitage.
