Jacob Duck
Pintou soldados holandeses e cenas de gênero
Jacob Duck foi um pintor e gravador holandês. Acredita-se que Duck tenha nascido em Utrecht. A partir de 1611, foi treinado em Utrecht para se tornar ourives, ofício no qual se tornou mestre em 1619. A partir de 1621, teve aulas de desenho com Joost Cornelisz Droochsloot. Ele foi ativo principalmente em Utrecht, mas também em Haarlem entre 1636 e 1646, enquanto entre 1656 e 1660 viveu em Haia. Em 1661, ele retornou a Utrecht, onde morreu e foi sepultado no mosteiro de Santa Maria Madalena. Duck pintou principalmente soldados, figuras e cenas do cotidiano. Suas obras encontram-se em muitos museus notáveis, incluindo o Museu Hermitage.
