Jacob George Strutt

Jacob George Strutt fue un pintor y grabador británico de retratos y paisajes al estilo de John Constable. Fue el esposo de la escritora Elizabeth Strutt y padre del pintor, viajero y arqueólogo Arthur John Strutt. Strutt nació el 4 de agosto de 1784 en Colchester, en Essex, uno de los ocho hijos de Benjamin Strutt y Caroline, de soltera Pollett. El 8 de noviembre de 1813 se casó en Londres con Elizabeth Byron, con quien tuvo cuatro hijos; su segundo hijo, Arthur John Strutt, nació en 1819. Strutt se trasladó a Lausana, en Suiza, hacia 1830. Con su hijo Arthur viajó por Francia y Suiza entre 1835 y 1837, y posteriormente a Italia; establecieron un estudio en Roma. Regresó a Inglaterra en 1851 y murió en Roma en 1864 o 1867.
