Jacob Matham
Grabador holandés famoso
Jacob Matham, de Haarlem, fue un famoso grabador y dibujante a pluma. Fue hijastro y discípulo del pintor y dibujante Hendrik Goltzius, y cuñado del grabador Simon van Poelenburgh, al haberse casado con su hermana, Marijtgen. Realizó varios grabados a partir de las pinturas de Peter Paul Rubens entre 1611 y 1615, y también una serie a partir de la obra de Pieter Aertsen. En 1613, el grabador Jan van de Velde se formó como aprendiz con él. Fue padre de Jan, Theodor y Adriaen Matham, este último un grabador destacado por derecho propio.
