Jacob Matham
Gravador holandês renomado
Jacob Matham, de Haarlem, foi um famoso gravurista e desenhista a pena. Ele era enteado e aluno do pintor e desenhista Hendrik Goltzius, e cunhado do gravurista Simon van Poelenburgh, por ter se casado com a irmã deste, Marijtgen. Ele fez várias gravuras a partir das pinturas de Peter Paul Rubens de 1611 a 1615, e também uma série a partir da obra de Pieter Aertsen. Em 1613, o gravurista Jan van de Velde tornou-se seu aprendiz. Ele foi pai de Jan, Theodor e Adriaen Matham, este último um gravurista notável por mérito próprio.
