Jakob Maurer
Peintre paysagiste allemand de Kronberg
Jakob Maurer était un peintre de paysage allemand. Maurer étudia à l'Institut d'art Städel et fut l'élève du peintre Jakob Becker. Son camarade de classe Carl Theodor Reiffenstein influença également son développement artistique à Francfort-sur-le-Main. Maurer déménagea plus tard à Düsseldorf, un centre de formation à la peinture en Europe grâce à l'École de peinture de Düsseldorf, et fut l'élève privé d'August Weber avec Anton Burger, dont la peinture de paysage était influencée par Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. Maurer lived and worked in Kronberg and was a member of the Kronberg painters' colony. Jakob Maurer est décédé le 2 mai 1887 à Kronberg à l'âge de plus de 60 ans.
